| Isn't fried cheese originally from France and didn't/don't they serve it with a sweet jammy topping? |

Hey Peter.
Yep believe it is.
In Czech cuisine there are a few versions of Fried Cheese with soft and hard cheese used (mainly camembert+Eidam).
Another option would be to use the 'smelly' Olomouc cheese but you really need to be planning some serious alone time if you eat this cheese
I also love the bar food 'Hermelin'. This is basically a form of camembert which has been left to marinate over an extended period of time in a mixture of oil+herbs/spices. It should then be served up together with a soft cut loaf and of course pivo (beer) _________________ 49 |

One of the BEST places to get fried cheese is the Akropolis restaurant in Zizkov.
The restaurant/bar/cafe is upstairs and there is a bar/club downstairs.

The bouncers here can be a bit on the rough side so if you are visiting the club and you are denied access for any reason then accept their decision and walk away. Sometimes they have concerts downstairs so this might be a reason for being denied entrance (unless you have a ticket of course for the concert).
Now, one of the WORST places to get fried cheese is from one of the fast food vendors located around the city.
The oil is usually at least a week old and the fried cheese is usually soaking in it.
Hezky den!/Lovely day!
